Harmony Mastiffs

Welcome to Harmony Mastiffs. We are located in the San Lorenzo Valley, CA (Santa Cruz Mountains, CA). We
love and are loved by beautiful, well-tempered, playful Mastiffs. Our Mastiffs live in our home and play on our
property. They take regular ventures into town and to various sporting events with our children. We probably have
written more on our site than some might like to read, but we hope you visit all the links to the side to learn more
about our family, our goals and our Mastiffs as we share some of our Harmony with you.

We are fanciers of the true Mastiff, sometimes referred to as the "English Mastiff" or "Old English Mastiff". This is
not to be confused with the "American Mastiff" which is a cross between an Anatolian Shepherd Dog and an
English Mastiff. The "American Mastiff" is not recognized by the AKC. The "Mastiff" is recognized by the AKC .
When viewing websites, please read them carefully and fully. There are many websites that promote themselves
as mastiff breeders and show pictures of dogs that could easily be mistaken for poorly bred English Mastiffs but
are truly a cross between the Anatolian Shepard Dog and English Mastiff. I recently read a website where the
kennel owner/breeder of American Mastiffs stated that English Mastiffs look dumpy. She must not have landed on
my site or many others for that matter where we raise and picture Mastiffs that meet the AKC Mastiff Standard.
Please be careful and do not be fooled by the American Mastiff by thinking it is the AKC purebred true Mastiff.
Make sure that if you want a true, purebred Mastiff, that is what you are getting and as well, if you want an
American Mastiff that it is the mixed breed dog for you and your lifestyle. I do not endorse or condone the cross
breeding between an Anatolian Shepard Dog and an AKC purebred Mastiff ~ This is my personal opinion~
